How We Started
Soralink is a Canadian company, based in Montreal and founded in 2021 by Drs. Yun Yao and Jean-Samuel Chenard. Our mission is to make all the benefits of predictive maintenance by artificial intelligence accessible and available to manufacturing companies by offering intelligent management solutions for industrial machines at an affordable cost.

With nearly 20 years of experience in different industrial sectors, the two co-founders of Soralink are fully aware of the needs of businesses. Soralink’s predictive maintenance 4.0 solution represents a significant technological advancement to minimize unpredictability and facilitate the growth of several industries, including the agri-food sector.
Soralink was born thanks to the support of programs such as L-Spark, Next AI and District 3 Innovation. Their mission is to support Canadian companies in the field of artificial intelligence through entrepreneurship training and fruitful partnerships.

Yun Yao, PhD
Yun Yao, who holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, is a dynamic professional known for her creativity and ambition. In 2010, she co-founded Tactile Labs, a non-profit organization that advances haptics research, where her leadership has fostered innovation and collaboration. After completing her PhD, Yun became a senior engineer, designing wireless communication systems, excelling both technically and in leading innovation initiatives. In 2021, she co-founded Soralink to integrate AI and IoT into the food manufacturing and processing industry, aiming to apply cutting-edge technologies to real-world challenges. Yun's career reflects her commitment to pushing technological boundaries, fostering collaboration and driving transformational change across industries.

Jean-Samuel Chenard, PhD
Jean-Samuel, who holds a PhD in microelectronics from McGill University, is a seasoned professional and serial entrepreneur with a talent for turning ideas into successful businesses. During his graduate studies, he founded Optimal Microsystems, an e-commerce platform for electronics design enthusiasts, showcasing his blend of technical and business skills. In 2010, he founded Motsai Research, focusing on electronic design and the development of miniature sensors, demonstrating his commitment to innovation. In 2021, Jean-Samuel co-founded Soralink, using his expertise in smart wireless sensors to create predictive maintenance solutions. His career reflects a unique fusion of academic excellence and entrepreneurial success, driven by a passion for innovation and real-world impact.
